These premium grade cast iron hats make it possible to use bolt-on rotors on vehicles equipped with OEM internal shoe parking brake assemblies. Each hat is a precision machined, threaded hole design for use in conjunction with through-hole mount rotors. After machining, the hats are electro-coated for corrosion resistance. Used for big rotor brake kits on truck, SUV, and 4WD axles with either 6 or 8 lug configurations.
GT Series Big Brake Short Offset hats are precision machined from premium aluminum alloys for high strength and attention to minimized weight. Hats in this category feature threaded rotor mount holes for use with standard through-hole mount rotors. Threaded hole hats may also be used with T-Nuts or bobbins designed for use with specially machined slotted hole dynamic mount rotors. When used in conjunction with matched Wilwood rotor hardware kits, GT hats provide solid, reliable performance in the most demanding conditions. Short Offset Hats are for narrow space applications with offsets often less than 1.00″. They are available for most rotor bolt patterns in a variety of four and five lug wheel patterns.
Wilwood’s Classic Series front disc brake kits for 1965 to 1969 Ford Mustangs offer disc brake upgrade solutions for OEM drum or disc spindles. These kits feature the FDL-M four piston forged aluminum caliper and 11.30″ diameter x 0.94″ thick one-piece rotors. The FDL-M caliper is a modified version of the time-tested Forged Dynalite caliper, and provides the greatest amount of wheel clearance of any four piston caliper in its size class. The OEM style one-piece cast iron rotors with integrated hubs simplify installation while providing superb dimensional stability and wear resistance. These versatile kits are easily optioned to suit the braking requirements and style preferences for a daily driver or the most discriminating show enthusiast. Intended vehicle applications require no modifications for installation, and clear most 14″ OEM disc brake wheels. Kits will not fit OEM drum brake wheels. Classic Series FDL-M kits can be used with either manual or power boost master cylinders, and come complete with calipers, rotors, brackets, hardware, flex lines and detailed installation instructions.
Wilwood’s Hex Head Cap Screws are manufactured from high strength alloy steel or stainless steel. Various plating methods are used depending on application.
The components in this kit have been selected to deliver consistent start to finish performance on vehicles built for dedicated road course competition. No detail has been overlooked. Forged aluminum Dynalite/ST calipers, fortified with Thermlock pistons and internal knock-back damping springs, provide high efficiency clamping force, unsurpassed heat management, and the piston retraction control that all contribute to a firm and consistent pedal through any event. Oversized 11″ diameter Spec37 alloy GT series 72 vane two-piece rotor assemblies mount to the OE hub with aluminum hats adding overall system brake leverage, cooling capacity, and thermal stability in this compact yet sturdy weight saving configuration. The performance package is capped with high friction, high temperature, and long wearing Wilwood PolyMatrix H compound race pads. All premium grade fastener kits include rotor bolts and caliper to mount bracket bolts that are pre-drilled for safety lock wire. NOTES: This kit requires spindles from vehicles originally equipped with 240mm, 9.45″ diameter rotors. On some models equipped with factory power brakes, upgrading to a larger bore master cylinder in the 15/16″ to 1″ range may be necessary. Vehicles converted to manual brakes typically have best results with a 3/4″ or 13/16″ bore master cylinder, all based on driver preference for travel and effort required. This kit has been verified for fitment in select 15 x 7″ racing wheels configured to accommodate oversized brake packages. Interference may occur with wheels designed only around OE spec brake components. Please refer to the wheel clearance diagram to determine fitment with your specific wheels.
Wilwood’s HD 48 Curved Vane Spec-37 rotors are are manufactured from a proprietary iron alloy developed to withstand extreme temperatures with the highest possible degree of resistance against distortion, warping, cracking, and wear. The formulation for this alloy is a derivative of technology and materials that were significant in the development of the extreme duty military spec rotors that are manufactured by Wilwood. Every Spec 37 rotor is precision machined to less than .001″ run-out, flatness, and parallelism. Our HD Series preparation includes full detail machining and smooth pad contact faces without slots.
Forged billet Dynalite calipers, oversized rotors, and high performance Wilwood brake pads deliver big brake stopping power with high-tech style for front wheel drive sport compacts. These kits are the perfect compliment to wheel, tire, and suspension upgrades. Options for caliper finish and rotor design make it simple to match the brake response and style preferences on all types of daily drivers, race vehicles, and ultra-styled show machines. Each kit is engineered specific for each vehicle. They are fully compatible with OE master cylinder output while retaining the full factory ABS functions.
The enhanced brake capacity and pad performance of the DynaPro 6 forged billet six-piston caliper is combined with 12.88″ diameter rotors for this group of front wheel drive sport compact kits. These kits are the perfect compliment to wheel, tire, and suspension upgrades on daily drivers, competition vehicles, and custom styled show machines. Each kit is engineered vehicle specific to maintain full compatibility with the OE master cylinder output and factory ABS functions. Optional caliper finishes and rotor designs enable the builder to personalize the style and optimize brake performance for every individual application.
Wilwood’s D154 Front Caliper Kit is a direct bolt-on 1 or 2 piston, lightweight, high-strength, extreme duty alternative to the OE cast iron “Metric” calipers that were used on a wide range of factory disc brake equipped mid size GM cars and small trucks beginning in 1978. Use of this caliper can still be found on some GM models as late as the year 2002. Forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and competition style high-temperature seals put an end to the rust, bore pitting, and seal failures that plague the OE caliper design. D154 calipers provide low-maintenance performance and a huge weight savings with high temperature reliability for the street and track. D154 calipers mount in the stock location over stock rotors; use the original style OE D154 brake pads and an OE M10-1.5 banjo bolt brake line mounting. D154 Calipers can be used with most wheels that clear the OE calipers. The front calipers with 2.50″ piston provide 4.90 square inches of piston area per caliper, in order to maintain the original front to rear brake bias and use of the OE master cylinder. The D154 is also available in a two piston version with 1.62 pistons, offering 4.12 square inches of area. Kits contain Wilwood’s hardened slide pins and BP-10 high friction pads. Matching rear calipers are also available for custom installations. Custom stainless steel brake lines are also available.
